The workshop will include didactic lectures, but the main emphasis will be on hands-on utilization of different types of confocal and multi-photon microscopic approaches and techniques. We will also be encouraging participants to use their own unique reagents to conduct their own intravital studies. Extensive use of software including Metamorph, Voxx and Amira will also be included. Our intention is that the teams of investigators, upon completing the course, will be able to conduct their own intravital imaging studies and assist additional investigators at their home institution. Specific topics to be covered will include glomerular, tubular and vascular biology and pathology in an attempt to demonstrate the tremendous power of these microscopic techniques when combined with modern molecular biochemistry and physiology.
This workshop will be limited to 15 teams. The registration fee will be $200 for academic individual and $750 for industry to cover the cost of materials, breakfast, lunch, and a dinner banquet at the end of the course. Participants will also have to pay for their own hotel rooms. We have reserved a block of rooms at the University Place Hotel at university prices to minimize the cost. After registration is confirmed, participants can call 1-800-627-2700, option #1 to make their reservations. The rooms are reserved under "Indiana University Microscopy Course".
Payment for the registration fee should be made out to Indiana University. Please mail to:
